Since 2017, as ForSea Solutions' Expert Fisheries Consultant, Lyudmila has been key in guiding Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) pre-assessments for salmon fisheries in the Russian Far East. Collaborating with fishery clients, the scientific community, and government agencies, she has helped develop and implement Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) for global sustainability recognition. Additionally, since 2014, she has advised Sakhalin fishing companies on aquaculture, salmon conservation, Russian environmental laws, and MSC certification standards. Lyudmila brings over 35 years of expertise, specializing in the assessment of salmon stock status, scientific criteria monitoring, and environmental certification of Pink and Chum Salmon fisheries. Lyudmila is an effective project manager who excels at pinpointing critical issues and steering company strategies for the best outcomes. Her adept negotiation abilities enhance collaboration between the fishing industry and scientific bodies, aiming for environmental initiatives and sustained business growth. Furthermore, her wide network within Russian scientific circles grants access to leading experts and vital data on fish biology and fisheries management in the Russian Far East. From 2006 to 2012, Lyudmila played a crucial role in achieving and maintaining MSC certification for the Iturup Island Pink and Chum Salmon fishery by JSC Gidrostroy, making it the first Russian company to be certified. She holds a degree in Fish Biology and Aquaculture from Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University, she is a native of Russia and is proficient in English.
